The present study aims at examining in depth the role of symbolism in the grids associated with Indian manuscripts in particular and Indian design thought in general. The further aim is to explore the possibility of this knowledge as a medium to impact Indian design education, to make its personality more holistic and inclusive with the use of design tools that have existed in our own country for centuries altogether.
